FAQ’s
Where does the dirt go?
Since this cleaning process is new to most people this is the number one question we are asked to answer. The simple answer is we take it with us in the 100% cotton terry bonnets we use. But to be honest 3% to 5% of the soil is left behind in your carpet to be vacuumed away during your next routine vacuuming. The magic’s in the Bio Based Polymer in our cleaning solutions. A small amount of the cleaning solution remains coating the carpet fibers. As this polymer dries it encapsulates any remaining soils in microscopic crystals which turn brittle and can be easily vacuumed from the fibers surface.
How soon can I walk on it?
Keep pets, children and regular traffic off the carpet for a period of one to two hours. The homeowner may use the carpet lightly immediately after cleaning by wearing the "booties" we provide, or socks or house slippers. Wait 24 hours before removing Styrofoam blocks and plastic tabs that are put in place to protect the furniture and carpet. The polymer in the cleaning solution takes 24 hours to dry to a crystal, so anytime after that 24 hour period you may do your normal vacuuming and the polymer crystals and the encapsulated soil will be removed.
NOTE: Carpet protector is strongly recommended as it can prevent many permanent stains, assist in resisting traffic area damage and make future cleaning more effective. Regular foot traffic removes much of the factory protection from your carpet, leaving your carpet unprotected could allow permanent stains, premature wear and cause a lower appearance level.
Do you move the furniture?
Our regular pricing includes moving most sofas, chairs, end tables, and other light items of furniture. Beds, dressers and heavier pieces are left in place under our regular pricing structure. These items can be moved upon request, however, the homeowner must remove all electronic items and breakables from any item of furniture that you would like us to move.
Can you get out.....?
With the experience and expertise our company has, we are known for being able to get out difficult spots. If a spot is removable, we have what it takes to get it out. Our vans are stocked with many specialty spotting agents. However, please understand that there are some things that can cause a permanent stain. They include, but are not limited to things with dyes, like red, yellow, blue or green.
Do you clean.....?
· Berber - Absolutely. Berber is a weave, not a particular type of fabric. Berber is simply a type of loop construction that may come in olefin, nylon, wool, or a blend. Berber requires a more thorough cleaning than other carpets. The “oscillating” action of the pad machines we use gets under, around, and through the loops. Other companies that are not as thorough as we are have a lot of problems with Berber because they leave soil behind that "wicks" back to the service. We also use a pile lifting machine to lift the nap of the carpet as most Berber can become matted in high traffic areas
· Wool - Yes, all of our cleaning solutions are “Wool Safe” Certified, and since wool takes more time to drying time than synthetic fibers, our low moisture system if perfect for wool. The big trick with wool is dry soil removal prior to cleaning.
· Haitian Cotton - yes, we have special Haitian cotton cleaner.
